The Prescott Valley Police Department and Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) are joining together with Vitalant to host the Sgt. Rick Lopez Memorial Blood Drive, a two-day event dedicated to honoring the life, service, and lasting impact of Sgt. Rick Lopez.

The blood drive will take place on June 26, 2026, at the Prescott Valley Public Library, 7401 E Skoog Blvd in Prescott Valley, and on June 27, 2026, at Pine Ridge Marketplace, 3250 Gateway Blvd in Prescott. To schedule an appointment, call 1-877-258-4825, or visit www.vitalant.org (Blood Drive Code: 10055576).

This collaborative effort brings together law enforcement and fire service professionals, united by a shared commitment to protecting and serving the community. While first responders answer the call every day, this event provides another opportunity to make a difference by working side by side with community members to help save lives through blood donation. The partnership reflects the strong bond between first responders and the communities they serve, demonstrating that service extends far beyond an emergency response.

The event invites Yavapai County residents and first responders to come together in support of a cause that reflects Sgt. Lopez's lifelong commitment to helping others. He was known for his dedication to service, compassion for others, and unwavering commitment to the community he proudly served. While his watch may have ended, the positive influence he had on those around him continues to be felt throughout the county.

The memorial blood drive serves as a reminder that when public safety agencies and the community unite around a common purpose, the impact can reach far beyond a single day.
