On Wednesday, May 13, at approximately 3:13 p.m., the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) and the Prescott Fire Department were dispatched to a reported shed fire near North Autumn Sage and Welsh Mountain Drive in Prescott Valley. While en route, responding crews observed a visible column of smoke. Prescott Fire Department Captain Travis McElwee, who was off duty and nearby at the time of the incident, arrived first and provided critical information to incoming crews while searching the home to ensure no occupants were inside.
