April’s full moon, known as the Pink Moon, will brighten the Arizona night sky on the evening of April 1, offering a clear and easy-to-see celestial event. Despite its name, the Pink Moon will not actually appear pink. The nickname comes from seasonal spring wildflowers, especially pink creeping phlox, which bloom across North America this time of year and signal the arrival of spring. In Arizona, the best time to catch the Pink Moon will be just after sunset as it rises in the eastern sky. It will appear especially large and may take on a warm golden or orange...
