Triple Digit Heat Could Break Phoenix March Record

Phoenix is expected to see historic temperatures next week as a powerful early-season heat wave pushes temperatures into the triple digits. Forecasts show central Phoenix reaching 103°F on Wednesday, March 18th, and 106°F on Thursday, March 19th, surpassing the current March record of 100°F set in 1988. If those temperatures are reached, it would mark the hottest conditions ever recorded in the city in March. Meteorologists say the unusual heat is being caused by a strong high-pressure system building over the western United States. The system is expected to push temperatures across the Southwest far above normal for this time...
